01 / Philosophy

Hardscape is the bones of a property. We treat it that way.

Four principles inform every line we draw, every meter we excavate, every stone we set. They are non-negotiable.

  • 01Tenet 1 of 4

    Base preparation is the project.

    Ninety percent of a hardscape's lifespan lives below the surface. We over-excavate, compact in lifts, and screed to laser before a single paver lands.

  • 02Tenet 2 of 4

    Every cut is intentional.

    Wet-saw cuts at the perimeter — never gaps, never cracked corners. Bond lines are mapped before installation so the pattern resolves cleanly at every edge.

  • 03Tenet 3 of 4

    Drainage is design.

    Slopes, swales, and channel drains are drawn in the same breath as the paving pattern. Water has somewhere to go before the first stone is set.

  • 04Tenet 4 of 4

    We build for the twentieth winter, not the first summer.

    Polymeric sand, edge restraint, freeze-thaw rated base — specified to outlast the warranty by a factor of three. The driveway you walk on in 2046.

From first walk to final sweep.

    Consultation

    We walk the property with you. Measurements, drainage notes, light study, neighbouring vernacular. Nothing is sketched until the site speaks first.

    Design

    A scaled plan, material samples in your hand, and a 3D render of the finished surface from your front door. Revisions are unlimited until you nod.
