“A 1,400-square-metre rug, laid in three quadrants, that never once closed the front door.”
N° 071 · Commercial
A mid-rise office tenant wanted their entrance to feel like an address, not a parking lot. We replaced asphalt, planters, and a fragmented walkway with a single 1,400 m² plaza in two-tone granite, set in a precise running-bond pattern that reads as a single rug from the lobby's mezzanine.
The plaza had to remain operational throughout — emergency-vehicle access could not be lost for more than six hours, and the underground parking ramp directly beneath limited bearing capacity to a strict slab loading.
We staged the work in three quadrants, kept a continuous fire-route open at every phase, and specified a 60 mm granite paver over a polymer-modified bedding mortar bonded to the existing concrete deck — the system carries the live load without adding mass.
From what was there to what should have been.
